Low energy, low motivation for life

I am constantly learning about the ups and downs of depression. I struggle out of bed and force myself to exercise to boost my seratonin levels. Exercise makes me feel better about myself keeping myself fit and healthy and in a good mental place. I’ve recently discovered that my tiredness leads to low motivation to get myself up and doing all the things I need to do even getting dressed.

How do I overcome this? At the minute the kids are off school so lies in but then because I have no routine I chill out in the morning then can’t get myself motivated to exercise or get dressed. I have so many things to do which gets me down but because I’m tired I can’t get motivated to do anything it’s a vicious circle you get stuck in.

As I sit in my pyjamas chilling with the kids I draw up a list of what I need to tackle then give myself to a certain time then I have to get up and try and tackle some of the things on my list. I will put these things off causing me to get anxious and stressed creating another vicious circle where as if you just tackle it head on it’s done and not on your mind. Easier said than done I avoid things all the time because for some reason I find that thing stressful. Who knows do I understand everything I do and why no it’s a long journey and I will try to change how I deal with things and manage the multitude of things I have to deal with mentally, emotionally and physically.

What am I going to do now? Get up off my butt do my workout to boost my seratonin and motivation and energy levels to get all the things I need to do on my list. Some fresh air and mindfulness is also a must just 5 minutes to stop and take in your surroundings listening to birds, kids running about having fun, laughing, waves splashing on the shore or simply silence breath in deep and let everything go and tackle the day as best you can. Take a walk along the beach or in the countryside and enjoy the little things we are too busy and stressed to even notice.

Don’t care what others think of you how you look or are dressed just have fun with your kids.
